In der heutigen TimeOut Sendung begrüßen wir als Studiogast Richard Weize. Seit 35 Jahren veröffentlicht Richard Weize auf seinem Wiederveröffentlichungs-Label Bear Family eine breite musikalische Palette, von Country über Blues, Rockabilly, Schlager, Rhythm & Blues, Jazz, Swing bis hin zu Kabarett und Jiddischer Musik. Ohne Rücksicht auf die kommerzielle Verwertbarkeit gibt es zu den verschiedensten Themen und Künstlern Wiederveröffentlichungen. Das alles in liebevoll gestalteten Alben und Mehrfach-CD-Boxen mit einem dicken Booklet oder einem Buch, z.B. ganz aktuell: Various Artists - Next Stop Is Vietnam 1961-2008, ein 13-CD-Schuber im LP-Format mit gebundenem 304-seitigem Buch, 334 Einzeltitel, Spieldauer: 16Std:49min.
Heute werden wieder - unter dem Motto This Is Pop - neue Platten vorgestellt. Zwei Stunden gefüllt mit obskuren Tönen, zwischen Indie und Industrial, Gitarren Pop, (Post) Punk sowie dazu passenden Konzerthinweisen.
Unter dem Motto Balkan Beats werden heute wieder aktuelle Platten mit Eastern und Gypsy Music, Balkan Brass Sounds, Klezmer, Lautari, Polka und Folk vorgestellt.
„We are producers - turning all the knobs that move the music scene“ (SPLIFF 1980). Oft werden Begriffe wie ‚Mastern’ oder ‚Mixen’ einfach im alltäglichen Sprachgebrauch übernommen, ohne dass man die genaue Bedeutung kennt. Heute ist Ronnie Henseler, hauptamtlich Betreiber des Alien Network Studios in Hamburg Altona, bei TimeOut zu Gast und wird über die Aufgaben eines Produzenten sprechen und uns hoffentlich erklären, was genau beim ‚Mixen’ und ‚Mastern’ passiert und was sich hinter dem sog. ‚loudness-war‘ verbirgt. Musik gibt es natürlich auch zu hören, immerhin war bzw. ist Ronnie u.a. bei ALIEN BOYS, PROLLHEAD, PUNKLES, CUCUMBER MAN, NO LIFE LOST und KOMMANDO SONNE-NMLICH aktiv.
